B.C. Lions News Release

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced this evening that kicker Paul McCallum has re-signed with the team.

"Paul has been one of our most consistent and dependable players since coming here in 2006," said VP of football operations and GM Wally Buono. "He has been one of the very best at his position and this is a very important signing for the club."

"Special teams, whether it's the return game, field goals or kickoff coverage, all are critical to our success on the field and I'm very pleased Paul will be returning, said head coach Mike Benevides.

McCallum enjoyed a masterful 19th CFL season and 8th campaign as the club's kicker and punter shattering records for consecutive field goals (30) and field goal success rate (94.3). Walking away with numerous weekly and monthly awards, McCallum also earned the CFL's Most Outstanding Special Teams Player award for 2011.

"I'm excited to be staying with the Lions," said McCallum. "Anytime you can play for your hometown club and finish the year the way we did last season with a Grey Cup win it's something you just want to build on moving forward."
