November 21, 2019 - National Arena League (NAL)
Columbus Lions News Release
The Columbus Lions make another signing to add to their experienced defense. Linebacker Lenroy Neysmith, who played for the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks in 2018 and then moved over to the Arena Football League where he played for the Philadelphia Soul and the Baltimore Brigade, excited head coach Jason Gibson. "Lenroy brings experience to the Lions, We look forward to his leadership in the locker room" said Coach Gibson.
In 2018 with the Steelhawks, Neysmith played in 13 games recording 21 total tackles, which was 4th on the team. The linebacker also had a pick to his name and had a nose for finding the football when it was jarred loose recovering four fumbles, which led the team. In 2019, Neysmith found himself with the Soul and Brigade. With both teams, he would rack up 20 tackles, one fumble recovery and one interception.
He joins a Lions defense that was filled with SEC talent last season that finished 3rd in total defense behind the NAL Championship game participants Carolina Cobras and Jacksonville Sharks.
