B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced today that they have signed import defensive lineman Bobby Iwuchukwu and import defensive back Donald Brown. Both players appeared at the club's free agent camp in Arlington, Texas this past weekend.
Iwuchukwu (pronounced I-which-a-koo) finished up his four-year career at Purdue University in 2006 and made NFL free agent stops in New Orleans, San Francisco and Denver before joining the Lions. At Purdue, the two-year starter racked up 31 defensive tackles over his final 16 games as he battled through injuries from the linebacker position. His six blocked kicks (five field goals and one convert) are a Purdue school record.
Brown finished his four-year career at Wingate ('03-'06) with 160 total tackles, 9 interceptions, 44 pass knockdowns, and 15.5 tackles for a loss. As a senior in 2006, he racked-up 37 tackles, 12 pass knockdowns and two interceptions. He made the SAC honor list twice, earning first team All-SAC laurels as a return specialist and Second Team distinction as a defensive back. Brown also led the SAC in punt returns in '05, averaging 10.1 yards per return and totaled 45 returns for 455 yards including two touchdowns.
