B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced today they have signed import linebacker Shane Simmons to the practice roster.
Simmons attended Western Washington University from 2004 to 2007 and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Oakland Raiders in 2008. After being released following training camp that year, the Kent, Washington native was signed by the Seattle Seahawks this past spring and was released as part of the club's final roster cut down last week.
"Shane is a player that we have had our eye on since he was a senior at Western Washington in 2007 and we're very pleased to have him join our club," said Lions' player personnel coordinator Neil McEvoy. "He is an intense, physical player who will adapt well to our game."
