(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced today that it has agreed to a trade with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and have acquired import receiver Arland Bruce.

"Arland is an outstanding talent and one of the premier players in our league," said Lions GM and head coach Wally Buono. "In addition to bringing a wealth of experience to our offense, Arland will mentor our younger receivers and also help balance the field for Geroy which will improve our overall offensive production."

Through 11 CFL seasons and 146 games Arland has 611 receptions for 9,416 yards, 76 receiving touchdowns, and 24 100-yard games. He ranks 23rd all-time in total touchdowns, 11th overall in receiving TD's and needs just 57 receiving yards to move past Hall of Famer Hal Patterson into 22nd spot all-time.

A consistent and gifted receiver, Bruce has six career 1,000 yard seasons to his credit and has recorded at least 60 catches in seven of his CFL seasons. In 2006, he set a career-high of 1,370 receiving yards and another career milestone in 2008 with 92 receptions.
