
Lintner First Black Wolves Pick in 2015 NLL Entry Draft

TORONTO, Ont. (September 28, 2015) - With the eighth overall pick in the 2015 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft, the New England Black Wolves selected Dan Lintner of Cornell.
A 5-foot-9 forward, Lintner finished his career with 88 goals and 96 points in 51 games. He had 47 goals as a junior, the 10th highest single-season goal total in Big Red program history. This past season, he finished with 30 goals, including eight multiple-goal games.
"It's a dream come true growing up, and it finally happened," said Lintner, who had 17 hat tricks in his last two seasons at Cornell. "When you start playing lacrosse, this is what you want to do. You want to get here. It's pretty exciting."
A native of Courtice, Ont., Lintner played in the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League for the Whitby Warriors, leading the team in scoring during the 2010-11 season. He was a three-time selection to the Ontario Box all-star team, while winning four Ontario Box championships and three Team Ontario Lacrosse Box Gold championships. In 16 games with the Brooklin Redmen in the MSL in 2015, Lintner scored 19 goals and dished out 25 assists.
With the 22nd overall pick, the Black Wolves selected Mike MacDonald of Princeton. A native of Georgetown, Ont., he set a Tigers record for points in a season with 78 (49 goals, 30 assists) as a senior. The Co-Ivy League Player of the Year in 2015, MacDonald finished his career at Princeton with 132 goals, third all-time in program history, and 76 assists.
Philip Caputo was selected with the 28th overall pick. A member of the Brampton Excelsiors at various levels since 2012, Caputo had 31 goals and 27 assists for 58 points in 19 games for the Excelsiors' Junior A squad before a seven goal, 16 assist, 27-point performance in nine playoff games in 2015.
The Black Wolves open the 2016 NLL season January 9th in Vancouver before returning to Connecticut for its home opener against the Calgary Roughnecks on Friday, January 15th at 7 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena.
