Lindstrom Joins Senators
Jackson, MS; June 22, 2005 - The Jackson Senators of the Central Baseball League (CBL) announced today they have signed catcher Josh Lindstrom to their roster. Lindstrom will be in uniform tonight as the Senators open a seven-game homestand against the Coastal Bend Aviators and Pensacola Pelicans.
Lindstrom, a native of Sacramento, CA, just finished up a stellar senior season at Tennessee Wesleyan College in which he was named to the NAIA 1st Team All America squad after hitting .481 with 12 home runs, 20 doubles, 38 RBI and a robust .821 slugging percentage. Lindstrom was also tabbed as Appalachian Athletic Conference and Region XII Player of the Year.
To make room on the roster, the Senators have released catcher Gerard McCall.
The Jackson Senators are part of the Central Baseball League, an independent league of eight professional baseball teams located throughout four southern states. The league is playing its twelfth season this summer with teams located in Edinburg, El Paso, Ft. Worth, Robstown, and San Angelo, Texas; Shreveport, Louisiana; Pensacola, Florida; and Jackson, Mississippi. The CBL will play a 94-game schedule between May and August 2005.
