Pensacola blew a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth, but in the ninth DH Larry Bethea doubled down the right field line to spark a rally. LF Nestor Smith singled to right field, where Cats' RF Terrell Merriman overran the ball for an error, allowing Bethea to score from second and tie it up. Smith moved to second on the error. 1B George Branch and 3B Trino Aguilar each popped out, but C Jose Salas hit a two-out, go-ahead double that scored Smith and gave Pensacola the 5-4 lead. Josh Courage allowed a hit, but no runs in the bottom of the ninth to preserve the win and earn his third victory of the season. RF Juan Rocha homered and drove in two for the Pelicans.

EDINBURG 5, SAN ANGELO 4 @ San Angelo, Texas. Time: 2:35 ATT: 1,325 W: Pedro Flores (5-2) L: Joldy Watts (4-4) S: Steve Wilkerson (15) HR: EDI - Eric Gonzales (5), Neesan Zieour (2)

RF Eric Gonzales and CF Neesan Zieour each hit solo homers to help Edinburg beat San Angelo 5-4. LF Matt Spencer was 3-for-5 from the three-hole with a run and an RBI for the Roadrunners, and starter Pedro Flores kept them in it with a solid outing. Flores allowed just two earned runs, despite giving up ten hits over six and two-thirds innings. LF Kory Drew led the Colts offensively, going 4-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base. Steve Wilkerson got his 15th save for the Roadrunners, allowing a run over an inning and a third but regrouping to end the threat in the ninth.

COASTAL BEND 8, JACKSON 2 @ Jackson, Miss. Time: 2:52 ATT: 714 W: Jose Lopez (4-3) L: Rusty Camp (4-4) S: None HR: JAX - Travis Nowell (3)

Jose Lopez allowed just two runs in a solid start for Coastal Bend, walking seven but stranding most of them by yielding only two hits. Lopez got his fourth victory and Coastal Bend beat Jackson, 8-2. CF Matt Mann went 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs and three driven in to lead the Aviators offensively. C Travis Nowell homered for Jackson.

SHREVEPORT 10, EL PASO 2 @ El Paso, Texas. Time: 2:55 ATT: 1,644 W: Dan Mozingo (1-0) L: Alexis Guzman (0-1) S: None HR: None

With the score tied 2-2, Shreveport exploded for eight runs in the eighth inning, winning 10-2 over El Paso. LF Mike Willis was 4-for-6 with a double and two RBIs from the leadoff spot. CF Coby Smith scored three times and was 3-for-6 with a double and a stolen base. Dan Mozingo picked up the win in relief, striking out three over a scoreless inning and two-thirds.
