
Lincoln wins 5-3 over Waterloo

The home team won all four games played this season between the Waterloo Black Hawks and Lincoln Stars, culminating in Lincoln's 5-3 win at the Ice Box Saturday.
Waterloo clawed back from a 4-1 hole in the third period. Jan-Mikael Juutilainen deflected a long Patrick Wey shot into the net with 8:42 remaining. Then Michael Montrose scored his first USHL goal at 16:36 after Billy Maday had won a faceoff.
In the first period, Lincoln went into the lead with a Brandon Bollig goal at 16:16.
Waterloo tied the score early in the second when Nick Larson found the rebound from a Brett Olson shot.
The Stars pulled ahead for good later in the period with goals from Matt Bartkowski and Mike Sdao separated by just 1:31.
Jared Festler and Sdao scored in the third, the last goal into an empty net.
The Hawks finish their three game road trip Friday in Sioux Falls.
