Colorado Mammoth News Release

DENVER - To say that Colorado Mammoth players have hogged the National Lacrosse League's Rookie of the Week award this season would be an understatement. Adam Jones has received the honor three times. Derek Hopcroft took home the hardware as well. Today, forward Jamie Lincoln became the third Mammoth player to secure the accolade.

"We have a tremendous group of talented young players, and I'm happy for Jamie that he finally has received league-wide recognition for his efforts," said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett. "He had a great game in Rochester."

The 25-year-old Ontario native recorded three goals and two assists in Colorado's 16-12 road win over the Rochester Knighthawks. The five points are a new career high, and his hat trick was the third of his young career.

"It's always great to receive awards, but [my teammates and I] go out there to get the "˜W'," said Lincoln. "Any accomplishments you get out of it are just bonuses."

A Mammoth player has now won the award in four of the past five weeks. In Week #11, when a Philadelphia Wings player was honored, Colorado had a bye.

The Mammoth hosts the defending NLL champion Toronto Rock on Saturday, April 14 at 7pm MT on HealthONE Field at Pepsi Center on "˜Lacrosse Out Cancer' Night. Tickets are on sale now at the Pepsi Center box office, all Colorado Dick's Sporting Goods retail kiosks, online at TicketHorse.com, or by calling 303.53.HORSE.
