Lightning to Hold Player Preseason Tryout Camp

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Lightning has announced it will hold a preseason player tryout camp session for the upcoming 2005-06 inaugural Lightning season, scheduled on Saturday, January 21.

The open workout session will be held at Stockton's Oak Park softball complex, adjacent to Billy Hebert Field, at the corner of Alpine and Sutter Street. The workout session will begin at 10 a.m. (PT) with registration open for all participants ($50 charge - cash or money order only) from 9-10 a.m. (PT).

Each individual participant is encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing, and is responsible for supplying its own football cleats (suitable for natural grass surface).

The Lightning is expected to soon announce open workout sessions in the Sacramento area, the Bay Area and other locales to be determined. Directions to Oak Park can be obtained by calling the Lightning team offices at (209) 373-1500.

Details on Head Coach Richard Davis' inaugural coaching staff will also be announced soon.

The Lightning opens the 2006 season schedule on the road against the Spokane Shock on March 30 at 6 p.m. (PT), the opening game of the af2's season slate.

Season tickets for the upcoming Lightning season are on-sale now. Tickets for the Lightning's April 29 home opener against the Bakersfield Blitz can currently be purchased as part of a full season package.
