Lightning to hold draft party

The 2005 CBA Draft is scheduled for Tuesday, September 20th at 7:00 pm and the Lightning wants all of its fans to share in the excitement.

The team is planning a draft party for the night of the 20th at the 10th Inning Bar and Grill located at the corner of Mulford and Riverside. Everyone is invited to attend the festivities, which begin at 6:00pm. Jim Stone from the WXRX Morning Show on 104.9 fm will be the guest host. In attendance will be future Lightning draft picks, Lightning players, Lightning ownership, Lightning staff and Lightning Head Coach Chris Daleo. Even Freddie Flash is scheduled to make an appearance.

"The Draft is traditionally one of the highlights of the off-season," said Lightning General Manager Michael Neville. "We have had a lot of fun with our fans on draft night last year and we hope to see old and new faces in attendance this year."

CBA teams are free to select any player not taken in the first round of the NBA Draft. The Lightning currently holds eight picks in this year's draft. Last season's rookie, Sidney Holmes, as taken in the fourth round of the draft.

The next Lightning free agent camp is Saturday, Sept. 24. Lightning season tickets are now on sale. Information on this player or on upcoming Lightning events can be obtained by calling the Lightning office at 815-874-4232.
