Rockford Lightning News Release
Rockford, IL. Pending league approval, the Rockford Lightning are proud to announce another signing for the 2004-05 season. Fourth round Rockford CBA Draft Pick, Sidney Holmes has agreed to suit up for the Bolts next season.
Holmes graduated from Lewis College last year. He led the Flyers in field-goal percentage, total rebounds (263), total rebounding average, offensive rebounds (115), offensive rebounding average and fewest turnovers per 40 minutes (2.00).
Before attending Lewis, Sidney played for Lightning Head Coach Chris Daleo at Barat College. At Barat, Holmes helped lead the team to a school-record 33-6 mark, the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship and the semifinals of the NAIA Division I Championship.
"He's an extremely hard worker who's always been loyal," says Coach Daleo, "and we're giving him his chance."
Holmes was also seen at many of the Lightning's Free Agent Camps this summer. There are only two more Free Agent Camps before Vet's Camp, October 24th and 31st. For more info on the camps and what it takes to catch Coach Daleo's eye, log onto www.rockfordlightning.com and click on "Free Agent Camp".
