Bolt's 20th Anniversary Season Begins November 20th (July 26 2005) Rockford, IL. The Bolts tip off their 20th Anniversary season on the road Friday November 18th against their arch rival the Gary Steelheads. The rivalry continues with the longest tenured minor league basketball team to kick things off in the friendly confines of the MetroCentre on Sunday, November 20th with a no-holds-barred brawl against the Gary Steelheads at 5:05pm. The Jesse White Tumblers will perform at half-time and the first 5,000 fans in attendance that night will receive a free magnet schedule.
The Bolts hope to have two victories by the time they face the follow up rematch of the CBA finals on Tuesday November 22 at 7:05pm as the Lightning take on the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Other highlights on the upcoming schedule include Basketball Bank Giveaway on December 12th against the Yakama Sun Kings. The December 15th home game allows fans to see the newly formed Albany Patroons. The Amazing Christoper will perform at half-time on Saturday December 17th as the Bolts play the Dakota Wizards. Some upcoming giveaways for Lightning fans for the 2005-2006 season will include a 6 player posters series, T-Shirts, baseball caps, Bobble Head Dolls, and 6 Pack coolers. "It's our 20th anniversary season and we are working on making this season the best one yet," says Lightning GM Michael Neville, "every home game is going to be something a Rockford Lightning basketball fan won't want to miss!" Head Coach Chris Daleo adds he's looking forward to facing the new Albany expansion team. "The new faces only make the league better, it's going to be an extremely competitive year in the CBA and the Lightning are ready for the challenge."
