Rockford Lightning News Release
Coach Daleo will spend two weeks in China on Tour Legacy Sports Partners of Atlanta, Georgia and the China Sport Coalition have chosen Lightning Coach Chris Daleo to lead a group of American players through a two- week tour through China. This will be Coach Daleo's second year for the tour. Leading his team will be former Northern Illinois standout Marcus Smallwood, former Loyola of Chicago guard Jerell Parker and Rockford's very own Kevin Haas.
"This is a very exciting trip for me," said Daleo. "It is a great opportunity to see players, coach outside of my element, and have the opportunity to broaden my horizons. My team seems to be pretty well balanced with both big bodies and guards. Most importantly, I expect to win and get nothing less than a double-double every game out of Haas."
The team arrives in Shanghai, China on May 12 and then immediately hit the hardwood. Games are scheduled against Zhejiang, Henan, and Shangdong China. The team will play a total of nine games during the two-week stretch. "There really is not allot of down time, everyday you travel and play, travel and play. I just hope that I do not get teched up by the Chinese referees as quickly as I do by CBA refs."
