Lightning can't stop Storm

December 2, 2004 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1)
Rockford Lightning News Release

Birch Run, MI- Last night the Lightning hoped to do something they haven't accomplished yet this season, winning on the road. 20-point performances from Guy Rucker and Ronnie Fields, and a big third quarter weren't enough, as the Bolts lost to the Great Lakes Storm, 117-106. The league's second-leading scorer, Stais Boseman, had 19 points in the game for Rockford. Rucker had a double-double on the night, hauling down 13 rebounds along with his 20 points. Leading the scoring for Great Lakes was Ezra Williams; his 26 points included shooting 11 for 11 from the free throw line. Rockford only earned one quarter point in the game, after winning the third quarter, 33-25. The Lightning continue their Michigan road trip tonight, as they travel to the Walker Arena in Muskegon to take on the Michigan Mayhem for the first time this season.

Rockford will return home to face Michigan on Tuesday, December 7th at the Rockford MetroCentre. Game time is 7:05 p.m., and anyone who brought in a toy for the toy drive on November 27th will be able to redeem their ticket for this game. After that, the Bolts host Sioux Falls on Thursday, December 9th, also at 7:05 p.m. Enjoy a performance by the Dance Education Center at halftime. For tickets, call the MetroCentre box office at 815-986-5222.
