Rockford Lightning News Release
Rockford, IL. Pending league approval, the Lighting are proud to announce the addition of Brian Lubeck to the 2004-05 Vet's Camp roster.
Lubeck has proved himself a competitor time and time again at many levels of basketball. The 6'6 forward played for the University of Louisiana at Monroe in college, averaging 14.4 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game in his senior year with the Indians. After college, Lubeck spent a season in the USBL with the Dodge City Legends before joining the CBA.
The Great Lakes Storm played Lubeck in 43 games last season (starting in 33). He averaged 11.6 points per game, 4.7 rebounds a game, and was one of the team's leading scorers. Brian was named CBA Player of the Week for the week of December 21-27. In a 120-119 overtime victory over the Rockford Lightning on Saturday, December 27, Lubeck posted 28 points and 8 rebounds while playing 52 minutes out of a possible 53 minutes of game time.
"Brian brings a lot to the table," says Lightning Head Coach Chris Daleo, "he's a very good outside shooter and an extremely hard worker. He called requesting to play in Rockford and after watching him in Free Agent Camp, signing him was a no-brainer!"
