Lightning announes tryout camp

Rockford Lightning Coach Chris Daleo, the 2003 Coach of the Year, is looking for players to fill his 2005-06 season roster. Coach Daleo loves to give local talent the best opportunities to make his squad, and that trend continues as Lightning announces tryout camp.

On Sunday, October 9, an open player tryout will be conducted at Cardinal Stritch University, located at 6801 N. Yates Road in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The tryout will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time with registration to begin at 8:30 a.m. The cost of the tryout is $100 for pre-registered players and $125 for on-site registration. The camp is open to the first 50 players. Do not be late.

On Saturday, October 22, an open player tryout will be conducted at the Patriots Gateway Center - located at 615 S. 5th street in Rockford, Illinois. The tryout will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time with registration to begin at 8:30 a.m. The cost and limit of players accepted is the same as the October 9 tryout.

Lightning players who have been signed at previous free agent camps include: 2002-03 CBA leading scorer Ronnie Fields and two-time 2002 American Conference Player of Week David Harrison. Last season three players came from at free agents camps, including Sidney Holmes, Brian Lubeck, and CBA Player of the Week Brant Bailey.

The Lightning open their 20th season in the CBA on the road against Gary on November 18th before returning to the MetroCentre on November 20th to host the same Steelheads. Lightning Season Tickets are still available. There are only a few of the Nicholson seats left.
