Columbus Catfish News Release
Columbus, GA - The doubleheader Saturday began with a 4-3 Columbus Catfish win over the Greenville Drive, but never ended. Game two was canceled because of a broken light tower in left field foul territory.
City of Columbus electricians looked into the problem upon its discovery, eventually diagnosing a short in the underground wiring of the light tower. Catfish employees brought in backup towers, which did not shed enough light on the problem. The poorly lit area along the left field line was deemed unfit for play.
The game has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader Sunday. In order to take full advantage of available sunlight, the first game will begin at 2:00pm. For tickets or more information call (706) 571-8866 or visit www.ColumbusCatfish.com.
