Liberty Defeats Dream

On Friday, the New York Liberty (15-20) defeated the Atlanta Dream (14-21), 80-70, in the third game of their 2022 four-game season series.

At Gateway Center, the Liberty finished on 47% (31-66) shooting from the field, 25% (4-16) from three, and 77.8% (14-18) at the free throw line.

The Liberty held the Dream scoreless until the 4:37 mark of the third quarter.

Following tonight's result, Atlanta is now 0-19 this season when trailing at halftime.

Up Next: The New York Liberty will return to Brooklyn host the Atlanta Dream in their regular season finale on Sunday, August 14 at 2 p.m. ET.

Four Liberty players scored in double figures in tonight's game (Dangerfield, Laney, Ionescu, Howard).

Highlighted by a nine-point first quarter on a perfect 100% (4-4) shooting from the floor, Crystal Dangerfield finished with a season-high 18 points on 58.3% shooting from the field and a season-high six assists - her fourth double-digit scoring game of the season.

Betnijah Laney totaled a season-high 17 points on 50% (5-10) shooting from the floor, including 40% (2-5) from deep, three assists, and three rebounds.

Sabrina Ionescu finished with 15 points on 54.5% (6-11) shooting from the field, eight rebounds, and six assists.

Natasha Howard finished with 14 points on 50% (6-12) shooting from the field, a game-high and season-high-tying 12 rebounds, three assists, and two steals - her tenth double-double of the season.

For Atlanta, Erica Wheeler finished with a team-high 16 points and three assists, while Rhyne Howard added 14 points and six rebounds.
