
LHP Adam McCreery to Triple-A Gwinnett, RHP Jason Hursh to Mississippi

CHATTANOOGA, TN - The Atlanta Braves have made the following roster moves affecting the M-Braves roster before this afternoon's game in Chattanooga. LHP Adam McCreery has been transferred to Triple-A Gwinnett and RHP Jason Hursh has been transferred to Mississippi from Gwinnett.
McCreery, 25, was 2-5 with a 3.83 ERA (20 ER/47.0 IP), 33 walks, 61 strikeouts in 34 games for the M-Braves this season. The 6'9" lefty converted both of his save opportunities. McCreery was second to only Corbin Clouse in appearances and strikeouts out of the bullpen this season. The La Verne, CA native (a suburb, 30 miles east of Los Angeles) picked up a career-high six strikeouts over 2.0 innings on July 29 vs. Birmingham.
McCreery was added to the Atlanta Braves 40-man roster on November 21, 2017, and was drafted in the 22nd round in 2014 out of Azusa Pacific (CA) University.
Hursh, 26, was on the M-Braves Opening Day roster and appeared in three games before being transferred to Triple-A Gwinnett on April 11. Hursh earned the save on April 7 vs. Tennessee and tossed 4.0 shutout innings with two walks and six strikeouts. In 39 games, one start for Triple-A Gwinnett, Hursh was 2-5 with a 3.98 ERA (23 ER/52.0 IP), 31 walks, 45 strikeouts, saving one game and holding the opposition to a .267 batting average. Hursh posted a 1.26 ERA in 10 games in May and a 2.70 ERA in 11 games during the month of July.
Drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the first round (31st overall) in 2013, Hursh made his Major League debut on August 13, 2016, at Washington. The Carrollton, TX native has appeared in 11 games for Atlanta in 2016 and 2017, posting a 1-0 record and 8.25 ERA (11 ER/12.0 IP), seven walks and eight strikeouts. Hursh was on the Atlanta MLB roster for a total of 36 days over his six different stints in 2017. The Oklahoma State product picked up his first and only MLB win on June 22, 2017, at San Francisco with 0.2 innings of scoreless relief in a 12-11 victory.
In parts of five seasons for the M-Braves Hursh is 17-15 with a 3.55 ERA (121 ER/306.1 IP), 201 strikeouts and 105 walks and 11 saves over 99 games and 41 starts. Hursh is the M-Braves all-time leader in wins (17), games started (41) and total batters faced (1,285). He is tied with Scott Diamond for the club record in strikeouts in a career with 201.
