Blast Signs Schweitzer
The Baltimore Blast announced earlier this week that defender Scott Schweitzer has signed an MISL Offer Sheet and will play for the Blast during the 2004-05 season. The Blast originally acquired Schweitzer's rights in August of 2001 when the Blast traded its second-round pick in the MISL Dispersal Draft to the Cleveland Crunch in exchange for Schweitzer.
Schweitzer, a seven-year veteran of the indoor game, has also spent the last seven seasons playing in the A-League with the Rochester Rhinos and Syracuse Salty Dogs. In seven indoor seasons with the then-Cleveland Crunch, Schweitzer won two NPSL Championships (1998-99 and 1995-96), played in four NPSL All Star Games (1996, 1998, 2000 and 2001) and was selected First Team All-Rookie after making his debut in 1994-95.
