
Leos Secure Three from 2012 Draft Class; Announce Guest Coaches

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced this afternoon defensive lineman Jabar Westerman has agreed to terms on a contract while offensive lineman Matt Norman and fullback Jordan Verdone have both signed contracts with the club. Westerman was taken with the second overall pick in the 2012 Canadian Draft, while Norman and Verdone were acquired with the 22nd and 37th overall selections back on May 3rd.
All three draft selections will arrive in Vancouver tomorrow with other first-year Leos before departing for Kamloops later in the day from the club's Surrey practice facility.
Guest coaches announced
BC Lions head coach Mike Benevides also announced that Pat Sheahan, Noah Cantor, Chris Bertoia and Bryce Bevill will lend a hand as guest coaches this year.
Queen's University head coach Pat Sheahan will work with special teams coordinator Chuck McMann while former Toronto Argonauts defensive lineman Noah Cantor will work with defensive line coach Carl Hairston. Bevill is the current head coach at Mark Washington's former high school in Washington D.C. and will help tutor defensive backs. Bertoia is currently the offensive line coach at Western Ontario and will lend a hand to Lions OL coach Dan Dorazio.
