Lemurs Walk Off With Win Number 10

Laredo, TX - The Laredo Lemurs stay hot as they pick up two runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat the El Paso Diablos 4-3 in the final regular season game at Uni-Trade Stadium.

With the Lemurs down 3-2 they sent Javier Brito to the plate in the bottom of the ninth. Brito opened the inning with a hard hit ground ball down the third base line that stayed fair, allowing Brito to cruise into second base with a double.

The Lemurs removed Brito for a pinch runner and put in Philip Incaviglia at second. Uraik Marquez then came to the plate and popped out to the shortstop for the first out.

Brian Peterson came up next and hit a line drive to left center to bring in Incaviglia from second and tie the game at three with Peterson sliding into second for a double.

With one at and a runner at second, Stephen Pearson came to the plate and hit a ground ball down the right field line that went under the mitt of the first baseman, that gave Peterson the opportunity to score and give the Lemurs their second walk off win in the series.

The Lemurs have now won ten games in a row and sit two and a half games up over the Grand Prairie Airhogs in the American Association South.

The Laredo Lemurs will wrap up the regular season on the road with a trip to Fargo, North Dakota and Gary, Indian. Keep your eye open for Lemurs playoff information.
