Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team has re-signed right wing Brady Leisenring for the 2007-08 season, while also agreeing to terms with rookie center Matthias Iberer.

Leisenring appeared in 42 games for the Falcons last season, registering 11 goals and adding 16 assists. He also saw significant time with the Falcons' AHL affiliate, the Worcester Sharks, spending most of the second half of the season in Worcester. In 24 games with the Sharks, Leisenring tallied two goals and three assists.

Prior to turning pro, Leisenring appeared in 145 games at the University of Vermont, scoring 46 goals and adding 71 assists for 117 points. After completing his senior season in 2005-06, he made his pro debut with the AHL's Cleveland Barons, scoring one goal in three games.

"Brady was an impact player as a rookie, and should capitalize on that experience this year," Falcons Head Coach and General Manager Matt Thomas said. "He battled some injuries all season, and off-season surgery will make him even more effective this season."

Iberer enters his first season in North America after spending five seasons playing in the top league in his native Austria. Last season, the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder tallied six goals and added four assists for 10 points in 46 games.

"Matthias is a big, strong, young kid with limitless potential," Thomas said. "We're excited to see what he brings to the table."

The Falcons open the 2007-08 season on Friday, October 19, hosting the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7:30 p.m. for an Opening Night Extravaganza, presented by Eye Q Vision Care. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under receive a replica Falcons' jersey.
