
Lehr Leads Pioneers over Capitales, 5-4

ELMIRA, N.Y. â Third baseman Ryan Lehr led the Pioneers to their first victory of the year with a bases clearing double with three men on and no outs in the eighth inning.
Second baseman Cleatus Davidson led off the inning with a single. After Davidson's single left fielder Rafael Alvarez and first baseman Rickie Morton both drew walks to load the bases.
In relief, pitcher Dan Head earned the win going three innings, allowing only one hit and striking out three. Pitcher Nate Tekavec gave up seven hits and four runs through five innings.
Lehr finished 1-2 with three RBI. Catcher Brian Jones went 2-4 with one RBI while Davidson also finished 2-4 with one run scored.
Quebec pitcher Brad Foss took the loss giving up two hits and two walks.
The Pioneers improve to 1-1 while Quebec falls to 1-1.
The Pioneers continue their home stand tomorrow night at 7:05 against Quebec.
