Moline, IL-Quad City Mallards President and General Manager Howard Cornfield today announced that left winger Jason Lehoux has been recalled to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League. He is one of six Mallards to earn an American League call-up this season.

In 28 games with the Mallards this season, Lehoux has four goals and ten assists for 14 points. The power forward also recorded 61 penalty minutes during his time in the Quad Cities.

The 6-foot-2, 225 pound left winger recorded a goal and 29 penalty minutes in 13 AHL games last season with the Manitoba Moose and St. John's Maple Leafs. For his career, Lehoux has 47 points (23 goals and 24 assists) with 440 penalty minutes in 196 pro games-all played in the AHL.

The 25-year old Lehoux has established himself as a rugged enforcer at the American League level. In 2002-03, he finished second on the Albany River Rats roster with 175 penalty minutes while scoring 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points in 64 games. The St. Marie, Quebec native was a River Rat for his first three professional seasons before joining Manitoba to begin the 2003-04 season. In 2001-02, Lehoux's 135 penalty minutes led the River Rats. He also scored 10 points on four goals and six assists.

Prior to beginning his pro career, Lehoux spent four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Lehoux recorded 288 penalty minutes in 1998-99 as a member of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. Lehoux finished his junior career with 35 goals and 37 assists for 72 points with 657 penalty minutes in 151 games. During his junior career, Lehoux was a teammate of future NHL stars Vincent Lecavalier, Mike Riberio and Michael Ryder.

Lehoux's recall is the eighth to the American League this season for the Mallards. Current Mallards Greg Barber, Robert Gherson and Colin Peters earned recalls to the AHL. Former Mallards Martin Wilde and Paul Cabana also received call-ups this year. The Mallards enjoy one of the best affiliation networks in all of double-A hockey. The team has official affiliations with the Hershey Bears, Portland Pirates and Chicago Wolves as well as working agreements with the Houston Aeros and Manitoba Moose.
