Lehigh Valley Steelhawks News Release
Bethlehem, PA: At a press conference last week from Starter's Riverport in beautiful downtown Bethlehem, the Indoor Football League's newest franchise announced the hiring of Daniel "Dynamite" Kuhn as the teams first ever General Manager. Kuhn comes to the Lehigh Valley with vast experience in both the outdoor and indoor game, and will bring an energetic attitude to the teams front office.
"From our first meeting with Daniel, we were impressed with his preparation and his energy," stated Executive Vice President Mike Clark. "Daniel has the experience of helping launch an expansion franchise, and will enfuse this team with the passion and dedication it takes to win a championship. Hence the nickname, Dynamite."
Kuhn comes to the Lehigh Valley after most recently serving under famed Head Coach Jerry Glanville at Portland State University. Before that, Kuhn held the title of Director of Football Operations for three years at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. The Nichols State graduate's indoor experience comes from three seasons spent launching the Austin Wranglers in the Arena Football League in 2003.
The team also announced the "Final Five" names in their "Name the Team" contest. Fans will be able to vote for the teams new identity on www.LVIndoorFootball.com from a list that includes the names: Blast, Ironmen, Steelhawks, Vipers, and Gamblers.
