Greenville Drive News Release

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive's seven-game winning streak came to a halt on Monday night as the Lexington Legends used a pair of ninth inning runs to come away with a 7-5 victory at Fluor Field.

The Legends (10-14, 47-45) began the inning with back-to-back hits off Durbin Feltman (0-1), and after an infield popout, Cristian Perez brought in the go-ahead run with a bunt single, and a Drive throwing error allowed Ricky Aracena to score from second base. Feltman had previously not allowed a run in his first two appearances with the Drive (15-10, 40-54).

After an 83-minute rain delay before the game's first pitch, a long second inning saw the Legends plate a run on a Drive error in the top half, followed by the Drive scoring all five of their runs in the bottom half.

Samuel Miranda drove home two runs with a double down the left field line in the frame, and Frankie Rios and Tanner Nishioka added RBI singles in the inning. A Lexington error plated a fifth run.

Lexington chipped away at the lead, beginning with an RBI single by Marten Gasparini in the fifth. Following an RBI single by Cal Jones in the sixth to cut the Drive lead to 5-3, Gasparini struck again for a game-tying two-run homer to right field.

Kutter Crawford struck out eight over five innings of work for the Drive, and he allowed just one earned run in a no-decision.

The teams will turn right back around and play the series finale at Fluor Field at 11:05 AM on Tuesday. Right-hander Hildemaro Requena (3-1, 4.98) will take the mound for the Drive against Legends right-hander Jackson Kowar (0-1, 81.00), who was the 33rd overall selection in this summer's draft by the Royals out of Florida.
