Lexington Legends News Release
A new era of Lexington Legends baseball has begun, but traditional favorites will still be on the promotions schedule for the 2013 season.
The Legends will play their first season as an affiliate of the Kansas City Royals in 2013. The Legends also unveiled a new look late last year, complete with new logos, uniforms and caps. New promotions involving entertainment, giveaways and special appearances will be announced soon.
But two longtime fan favorites - fireworks nights and weekly money-saving themes - will again be part of the fun at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
There are 16 Ford Fireworks nights scheduled this season, the first on Opening Night, Monday, April 8.
"We've always been very proud of our fireworks shows," said Legends General Manager Seth Poteat. "Our fans know they're going to see an outstanding fireworks display without leaving their seats after the game. And with 16 Ford Fireworks shows on the schedule this year, it'll be better than ever."
Other Ford Fireworks nights are scheduled for April 13, April 20, April 27, May 11, May 31, June 21, June 22, July 3, July 12, July 13, July 26, July 27, August 9, August 24 and August 31.
Legends games have always provided low-cost family entertainment, and weekly promotions will again offer special discount prices on a variety of food and beverages. Details on the weekly promotion schedule will be announced soon.
The Legends' new major league partner will have a prominent role. Special guests from the Royals will make appearances at the ballpark, and the Legends will have a series of Royals-related collector's item giveaways. Details will be announced later, as will the complete promotions schedule.
Season seats and the popular eight-game mini-plans are on sale now. For more information, visit www.lexingtonlegends.com or call the Legends box office at (859) 422-7867. Individual game tickets will go on sale in early March.
