Legends Home for Four Games Tuesday Through Friday

Thirsty Thursday, Bark in the Park and a fireworks show highlight the Lexington Legends next-to-last homestand of 2015, which opens Tuesday night. The Legends will also spotlight the winner of the annual create-a -jersey contest.

The Legends, class A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, will take on the Rome Braves, class A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, Tuesday through Friday. Game time each night is 7:05 p.m.

The schedule:

Tuesday, August 25: Legends vs. Rome, 7:05 p.m. Hot dogs are just 38 cents each on Tuesday nights in recognition of the Ford F-150 being the best-selling truck for the last 38 years.

Wednesday, August 26: Legends vs. Rome, 7:05 p.m.

Thursday, August 27: Legends vs. Rome, 7:05 p.m. It's a Kentucky Ale Thirsty Thursday, and beer and Pepsi products will be on sale for one dollar each. Thursday is also the final Pepsi Bark in the Park night for 2015, and fans are welcome to bring their dogs to the game. A two-dollar donation at the gate for each dog will benefit a local animal shelter.

Friday, August 28: Legends vs. Rome, 7:05 p.m. Friday is Shriners Hospital Create-A-Jersey Night. The Legends will wear jerseys designed by the winner of the create-a-jersey contest, Jack Koenig, a fifth-grader at the School of Creative and Performing Arts. Jack has been a patient at Shriners Hospital and continues to participate in physical therapy after doctors corrected a condition in which his tibia bones were twisted, causing pain in his feet that he first noticed at about age five. Jack, who will be at the game Friday, has resumed normal play with his brothers and friends at school and has recently started playing golf.

A Ford Fireworks show will follow the game, and following the fireworks, Boy Scouts from the Blue Grass Council will camp out overnight on the field.

"There are just nine home games left this season , but there's still plenty of fun to be had each night at the ballpark," said Legends President/CEO Andy Shea. "With 38-cent hot dogs, Thirsty Thursday, fireworks, Bark in the Park and the create-a-jersey night, this homestand will be a great time to come out for Legends baseball."

The Legend will have five games at home against Hagerstown September 3-7 to close out the 2015 season.
