Legends Defeat 87ers 105-93 in Wire-To-Wire Victory at NBA D-League Showcase

SANTA CRUZ, CA. - The Texas Legends (10-8) defeated the Delaware 87ers (12-11) by a score of 105-93 to wrap up Thursday's action at the 2016 NBA Development League Showcase in Santa Cruz, CA.

Texas received 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists, four steals and three blocks from Manny Harris, as all five Legends' starters scored in double-digits. Brandon Ashley grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds in addition to 11 points, while completing his double-double. Allen Durham came off the bench to put up 11 points and eight rebounds, and guard Tu Holloway chipped in with 14 points and seven assists.

Sean Kilpatrick, third in the league in scoring, recorded a game-high 31 points to go along with six rebounds. He connected on four-of-seven attempts from beyond the arc. David Laury III recorded a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double and recently acquired Christian Wood finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Legends started off hot, led by 11 points from Murray in the opening quarter, as Texas went up 31-21 after the first quarter. Texas recorded an assist on 10 of their 12 made baskets in the first frame. Wood was a bright spot for Delaware, putting up eight points and grabbing six rebounds in the opening stanza.

Ty Greene came off the bench in the second quarter to knock down a pair of three-pointers for Delaware, but the 87ers still trailed 58-47 at the half. Despite hitting all 10 of their free throws in the first half, Delaware shot 16-of-48 from the field (33 percent), compared to Texas' 23-of-52 shooting effort (44 percent).

Texas opened the second half on a 15-2 run in the first 5:17 of the third quarter, which stretched their lead to a game-high 24 points. Delaware fought back behind 12 points from Kilpatrick in the period but still trailed 83-71 after three.

A low-scoring fourth quarter saw each team score 22 points, as the Legends preserved their 12-point advantage for the victory.

The teams combined to block 27 shots in the game, but Texas won the rebounding battle 49-43. The 87ers ended the game with a 14-of-15 effort from the free throw line (93 percent).

Delaware's next game will be Friday, Jan. 15 vs. Raptors 905 at the Bob Carpenter Center, with tip scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. Texas will next play on Tuesday, Jan. 12 on the road vs. the Oklahoma City Blue at 8:00 p.m. ET.
