Texas Legends News Release
SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), traveled to Sioux Falls for their final road game of the season, presenting one more conquest for the Skyforce in their path to the division title.
The Legends shot a season-high 57.3%, putting up 121 points on the night. The problem came under the basket as Sioux Falls outrebounded Texas 38-24. The first quarter was a toss-up ending in a 34-all tie, but the Skyforce came out strong in the second to outscore the Legends 42-26. Texas posted 61 points in the second half to rally for a comeback but were unable to shut down the hot shooting of Sioux Falls' Craig Smith who shot 100% grabbing 13 points in the final 24 minutes.
PJ Hairston led the Legends in scoring with 26, while Ricky Ledo and Melvin Ely followed closely with 24 and 23 respectively. Mickey McConnell tallied the team's only double-double with 15 points and 14 assists, as Marcus Hubbard came close with 16 points and a game-high 9 boards. Sioux Falls had seven players in double-digits, led by Smith with 33 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
The Legends will host the Idaho Stampede in their final game of the season tomorrow night at 7pm. For tickets or information visit www.TexLegends.com.
