Texas Legends News Release
Frisco, TX JAN. 05, 2011 - The Texas Legends didn't start the New Year the way they wanted to, losing to Tulsa 107-86.
Drew Neitzel was the Legends top performer scoring 14 points, dishing out five assists, and grabbing three rebounds. Texas had five players score in double figures, but it wasn't enough to overcome another strong outing by Tulsa's Marcus Lewis.
Lewis recorded his sixth straight double-double, tonight registering 20 points and 12 rebounds in the lop-sided win. Dwight Buycks led the 66ers in scoring with 22 points.
Texas cashed in from the free throw line making 23 of 29 for 79.3%, but the Legends struggled from the field shooting 40.5% as a team.
Tulsa controlled the glass, outrebounding Texas 49-37.
Texas (5-10) plays again tomorrow, visiting the Austin Toros (10-3) at the Cedar Park Center in Cedar Park, Texas at 7:30PM.
