Legends Acquire Returning Player Rights to Greg Brown III

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends have acquired the returning player rights to forward Greg Brown III and a 2024 NBA G League Draft 2nd round pick in a trade with the Ontario Clippers. In exchange, Texas sends the returning player rights to Tyler Dorsey and their own 2024 1st round pick.
Brown (6-7, 206, Texas) was the 13th pick in the 2nd round of the 2021 NBA Draft. In 48 games with the Portland Trail Blazers his rookie season, Brown averaged 4.7 points, 2.8 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game. Last season Brown split time between the Blazers and the Ontario Clippers where he averaged 10.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks across 20 G League games.
The Austin, Texas native played one year with the Longhorns where he put up 9.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.0 block per game in 26 games earning Big 12 All-Freshman Team and All Newcomer Team, Big 12 Newcomer of the Week (two times), and All-Big 12 Honorable Mention. Brown was named 2020 Texas Mr. Basketball and Texas Gatorade Player of the Year.
