Leavitt To Be Presented With Joe Burton Scoring Title Award Before Game 6

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League has announced that CHL regular season scoring champion Alex Leavitt will be presented with the Joe Burton Scoring Title prior to the start of Game 6 tonight at Tim's Toyota Center.

Executive staff from the Central Hockey League, as well as a season ticket holder chosen at random, will join Leavitt on the ice prior to the start of Game 6 to make the presentation.

In 58 games, the Edmonton, Alberta, native tallied 128 points, 20 more than New Mexico's Konrad Reeder who finished second with 108 points.

The Phoenix Coyotes prospect ranked among the league's leaders in several categories including finishing fifth in goals (40) and first in assists (88). Leavitt finished the regular season on a 17-game point streak totaling 50 points over that span. Leavitt led the league with 38 multiple-point games and on 12 occasions scored four points or more in a single game.

Leavitt finished runner-up to Laredo's Jeff Bes for the CHL's Most Valuable Player award. He also was named to the 2008 All-CHL team joining Laredo's Bes, Rocky Mountain's Brent Cullaton, New Mexico's Vladimir Hartinger, Colorado's Aaron Schneekloth and Bossier-Shreveport's John DeCaro.
