Arizona and Laredo Meet in Southern Conference Finals

The Southern Conference Finals were finalized tonight when the Arizona Sundogs defeated the New Mexico Scorpions in game six of the conference semifinals. The Southwest Division winning Sundogs will now battle the Southeast Division winning and defending Southern Conference champion Laredo Bucks. Game one will be on Monday, April 14that the Laredo Entertainment Center.

Arizona defeated the Scorpions four games to two with tonight's 4-3 victory at the Tim's Toyota Center. The Sundogs will play in the conference finals for the first time in the franchise's brief two-year history.

The Bucks have been off since Friday, April 4th when they finished a four-game sweep over the Odessa Jackalopes in the conference semifinals. Laredo has now made it to six straight conference finals and has been to the Ray Miron President's Cup finals four straight years winning two championships.

During the regular season, Arizona shutout the Bucks in the first meeting but Laredo exacted revenge winning each of the next three contests (all by one goal). Each of the last two games went to a shootout. Alex Leavitt had nine points in the four games for Arizona and Jeff Bes had eight points for Laredo versus the Sundogs.
