The Highlanders were looking to hand the Magic their first loss of the season. Billy White was playing his first game against the Highlanders as a member of the Magic. It was a close game right from tip-off but neither team shot well from the field. The Magic's defence allowed them to take a 4-point lead at the horn.
Quarter 2: CB 40 | MON 49
The Highlanders continued to work, but got caught defensively midway through the quarter as Moncton were able to find their stride. Cape Breton battled and stayed in the game, but the Magic held a 9-point lead at the half.
Quarter 3: CB 71 | MON 77
The Magic started the second half well as they were able to get strong passes through the Highlanders defence. The Highlanders continued to chip away at the Moncton lead, trailing by 6 at the end of the quarter.
Quarter 4: CB 89 | MON 102
The Highlanders played well against the best team in the NBL of Canada, bringing the score close several times throughout the game. Unfortunately for Cape Breton, Bruce Massey Jr. was held out of the game for the entire second half, surely affecting their offensive game. The Magic got hot at the worst time for the Highlanders, as they were able to keep their perfect record intact.
