Leading Goldeyes Back Home to End June
June 25, 2009 - Northern League (NL)
Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
On top of the Northern League since opening day, the Winnipeg Goldeyes will still be there when they return home early tomorrow.
Wrapping up a trip to Kansas City this afternoon, Winnipeg is back at Canwest Park on Friday for a six-game homestand that begins with a visit from Fargo-Moorhead. The three-game series opens as second baseman Brian Duva returns as the fourth former Fish coming back on Flashback Fridays. Game time is 7:00. The two teams meet again Saturday at 6:00 before wrapping up the series with a 1:30 start on Sunday.
Schaumburg then comes to town for three games, which will include the first-half team photo giveaway and on-field autograph session on Monday, fireworks on Tuesday and a special Canada Day game on Wednesday where the Goldeyes will wear replica Team Canada hats and jerseys commemorating the Canadian squad's thrilling bronze-medal win at the 1999 Pan Am Games.
Game time Monday and Tuesday is 7:00. The series finale on Wednesday is set for 4:00.
Prior to taking the field this morning in Kansas City, the Goldeyes made one roster move by placing infielder Brent Metheny on the Disabled List. He's been bothered by a calf problem and hasn't seen action since June 14.
Great seats for all games start at just $5 and are available at all Ticketmaster locations, including the ballpark box office, by calling 780-3333 or visiting ticketmaster.ca.
