
LD Williams to Return to Armor

SPRINGFIELD, MA- The Springfield Armor today announced that guard LD Williams has signed an NBA Development League contract and will report to training camp with the Armor.
Williams appeared in 23 games as a rookie, including 19 starts with the Armor during the 2010-11 season, averaging 10.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Williams scored in double figures 13 times, including a season-high 21 points on January 2, 2011. The Wake Forest University alumnus was the 2011 NBA D-League Showcase Slam Dunk Contest champion.
"I'm really excited to have LD back," said Armor Head Coach Bob MacKinnon. "I think he's an exciting player that our fans are going to enjoy having back in Springfield this season."
Williams, a native of Yadkinville, NC, was the Armor's second round pick (28th overall) in the 2010 NBA D-League Draft. After 23 games with the Armor, Williams inked a deal to join the Alaska Aces of the Philippine Basketball Association, where he played for the remainder of the season.
The Armor will open the 2011-12 season on Friday, November 25 at 7:00 p.m. at the MassMutual Center against the Maine Red Claws.
