Lauralton Hall Named Sun Team of the Week

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (January 12, 2011) - Lauralton Hall of Milford has been selected as the Connecticut Sun High School Girls' Basketball Team of the Week, presented by Camaro Signs of Yantic, for the week of January 3-9th .
The Crusaders (4-2) earned the No. 8 spot in the New Haven Register Girls Basketball Poll with a 61-50 win over then-No. 10 Pomeraug on January 4th . Junior Nicola Matero led the way for
Lauralton Hall with 19 points, while sophomore Olivia Levey added 15 as the Crusaders swept the season series against the Panthers.
This is the fifth season the Connecticut Sun has recognized a Team of the Week. Each winner will receive a commemorative plaque and a congratulatory letter from Connecticut Sun coach Mike Thibault.
The Team of the Week is part of a series of initiatives undertaken by the Connecticut Sun to highlight local high school girls' basketball, where future WNBA stars are already competing. The Sun have also hosted the CIAC Championship luncheon and the four state title games, and the team will recognize all of the teams of the week during a regular season game during the 2011 season.
