Edinburg,Texas --- The Edinburg Roadrunners' late runs seal 10-4 blowout over theMcAllen Thunder. The Edinburg Roadrunners beat theMcAllen Thunder 10-4 on Thursday thanks to a five-run fifth inning atEdinburg Baseball Stadium. Derek Perren did his best to jumpstart theoffense for the Edinburg Roadrunners (4-5), reaching base four times. He scored tworuns and had one RBI. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fifthand eighth innings.

Matison Smith (2-0) had an impressive outingagainst the McAllen Thunder's lineup. The McAllen Thunder (2-7) managed just two hitsoff of the the Edinburg Roadrunners' pitcher, who allowed two earned runs,walked three and struck out four during his six innings of work.

Quinn Bright (0-2) ended up on the wrong sideof the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowedsix runs in four innings, walked three and struck out one.

The Thunder and Roadrunners will continuetheir four game series tomorrow night as Baron Short will make his first startof the season against Edinburg right-hander Ryan Smith. The first is scheduledat 7:05 p.m.

TheThunder is in their 2nd season of professional baseball and will open up theirhome 2012 ULB season on Tuesday, June 5 versus Abilene Prairie Dogs. SeasonTickets, Family Passes and group nights for Thunder games are available at 956-380-6256.
