Moncton Miracles News Release

It was a classic case of too little, too late. The Miracles went on a huge run late in the fourth quarter but were unable to complete the comeback, falling 90-87 to the Saint John Mill Rats.

The Mill Rats led by as many as 21 and were in charge from the outset. Led by Anthony Anderson and Doug Herring Jr, the Mill Rats lead 16-4 after 4 minutes in the first quarter.

Anderson paced Saint John with 25 points and Herring Jr. pitched in with 23 of his own.

The Miracles were led by Trayvon Lathan who had 25 points and 10 rebounds.

Once again, a running theme for the Miracles were turnovers and missed free throws with 25 and 11 respectively.

Saint John shot a scorching hot 51% in the first half before the Miracles tightened up their defense in the second half, holding the Mill Rats to 25% shooting in the frame.

The teams were deadlocked with 52 rebounds a piece but Saint John hit 95% of their free throws which seemed to push them over the top.

The Miracles are in action again on Sunday at home vs. the PEI Storm.
