Madison Capitols News Release
Game 3 goes to the Sioux City Musketeers after a late goal with 3:44 to play in regulation gives them the 3-2 win tonight and a 2-1 series lead over the Madison Capitols in the Clark Cup Finals.
After going down 1-0 just 4:11 into the contest, the Capitols answered back with a pair of their own. Luke Mittelstadt buried from his signature spot at the left side circle on the power play with 6:22 to play in the 1st period to equalize things at 1-1. With 70 seconds to go in the first period, Quinn Finley took a shot off the back wall that went wide and put it home to put the Capitols up 2-1.
The game would remain there until the 16:26 mark of the 2nd period when Ben Doran was able to get in position to score a rebound goal out front for the Musketeers.
A battle between the best in the East and best in the West it was as the final shot count was tied at 33-33 after 60 minutes of hockey. The Caps will look to bounce back tomorrow night just like they have all season and playoffs long to force a decisive Game 5 back in Sioux City. Puck drop slated for 7:05 p.m. tomorrow night at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena.
