Everett AquaSox News Release
EVERETT, Wash. - The AquaSox lost to the Vancouver Canadians, 7-4, Tuesday night at Everett Memorial Stadium, eliminating the Sox from the playoffs and marking the end of the 2012 season.
Vancouver got on the board right away in the top of the first on a three-run homer by designated hitter Art Charles, putting the C's ahead, 3-0.
The Canadians kept the momentum going in the second inning, adding a couple more runs to take a 5-0 advantage over the Sox.
The Frogs would score their first run in the fourth inning on an RBI line-drive single by Janelfry Zorrilla, cutting Vancouver's lead to 5-1.
The C's added to their lead in the sixth to take a 7-1 lead, but the Sox would break out in the seventh and put three runs on the board. Zorrilla started the seventh-inning rally with a hard-hit single and Ketel Marte would do the same to put two runners on with one out. Mike Faulkner brought the runners home on a triple to narrow the C's lead, 7-3. A wild pitch would allow Faulkner to score and make it a 7-4 game through seven innings.
Vancouver would keep the AquaSox from scoring in the final two frames to take the series in two games and move on to the championship round.
