The Somerset Patriots were defeated by the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 13-9 at Delta Dental Stadium.
The loss drops the Patriots to 4-5 on the season and signals their first series loss of the season (4-2).
RHP Blane Abeyta (4.0 IP, 8 R, 6 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 2 K, 2 HR) started the game and was tagged with his second loss of the season and of the series.
RHP Jack Neely (2.0 IP, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K) ended the game with two scoreless innings.
Over three appearances to start the season, Neely extended his scoreless streak to to 4.2 innings, in which he has struck out 9 batters with a 0.86 WHIP.
SS Ben Cowles (2-for-4, 3 RBI, R, 3B, BB) reached base four times in the game, extending his team-best on-base streak to nine games to start the 2024 season.
Cowles ends the week with a .419 AVG and .514 OBP, both of which lead the team and rank top-3 in the Eastern League. Cowles brought home a game-high 3 RBIs, tying his season-high and career-high mark.
DH Agustin Ramirez (0-for-1, 3 BB, HBP) failed to hit safely for the first time this season, but reached base four times in the game.
1B T.J. Rumfield (2-for-5, RBI, 2 R) scored a game-high two runs in his third multi-hit game of the season.
