Greenville, SC - The Fayetteville Patriots defeated the Greenville Groove 82-80 Wednesday night at with BI-LO Center with a last second tip-in by forward Jameel Watkins. Watkins finished with 10 points and three rebounds. The Groove fall to 16-19, while Fayetteville advances to 24-13, maintaining first place in NBDL standings.
Greg Jones led Greenville with 17 points. Kevin Lyde contributed 15 points and 14 rebounds to the Groove effort. Donald Hand also had 15 points.
Terrell McIntyre who went 5-9 for 15 points led Fayetteville. Matt Barnes (13 points), Devin Brown (12 points), Jason Capel (11 points), and Jameel Watkins (10 points) were all in double figures for the Patriots.
The next Groove game will be Friday, February 21 at North Charleston at 7:00 pm.
