
Las Vegas Desert Dogs Begin Inaugural Training Camp in Canada this Weekend

TORONTO, ON - The Las Vegas Desert Dogs will begin the franchise's inaugural Training Camp Weekend from today, Friday, November 4 through Sunday, November 6 when the team converges on Oakville, Ontario. The Desert Dogs will hold their first practices and meetings as a team throughout the weekend, before returning back to Canada for Training Camp Weekend #2 from Nov. 11-13. The team will host Training Camps #3 and #4 in Las Vegas from Nov. 19-20 and Dec. 2-4, respectively.
"We are thrilled to finally begin our first training camp as a team, and I'm looking forward to a productive month of practice and bonding time together," said head coach Shawn Williams. "I know our guys have been working hard in the offseason to come into this season prepared and ready to showcase our great game to Las Vegas."
The Desert Dogs will join the San Diego Seals and Halifax Thunderbirds at the Akwesasne Reservation for practices and exhibition games at A'nowara'ko:wa Arena from November 11-13. The weekend, hosted by the Mohawk community of Akwesasne in eastern Ontario, is hosted through the Strong Roots Charitable Foundation. The foundation is a not-for-profit corporation that aims to provide support and enrich the lives of Akwesasne youth and elders and is providing resources for all three teams to engage members of the indigenous community in their respective cities with the game of lacrosse.
The Desert Dogs' first two exhibition games of the preseason at the Akwesasne Reservation will be against the San Diego Seals on Friday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. PT and the Halifax Thuderbirds on Sunday, Nov. 13 for a 3 p.m. PT tilt.
The team will return to Vegas from Nov. 19-20 to resume Training Camp, which includes an open practice for season ticket members on Sunday, Nov. 20 and a closed exhibition game vs. the Colorado Mammoth.
The Desert Dogs final week of Training Camp runs Dec. 2-4, before the franchise plays its inaugural game on Friday, Dec. 9 on the road at Panther City in Fort Worth, TX. LVDD will then open its doors for the first time at Michelob ULTRA Arena on Friday, Dec. 16 for the franchise's inaugural home game vs. Panther City.
