
Larry McCarren to Join Blizzard as Honorary Captain

Green Bay Packer Hall of Famer, Larry McCarren will join the Blizzard as the honorary captain this Friday. Inducted into the Packer Hall of Fame in February 1992, McCarren played 162 consecutive games as a center for the Packers from 1973-1984 earning him the nickname "The Rock." McCarren, a Park Forest, Illinois native attended Rich East High School. He lettered in football in 1970, '71, and '72 at the University of Illinois. McCarren was a first team All-Big Ten center for the Illini in 1972. In 1973 Larry was drafted by the Green Bay Packers. During his pro career he was twice named to the Pro Bowl. McCarren currently does color commentary with Wayne Larrivee for Packer games.
The Blizzard returns home this Friday, May 11th to face the Tri-Cities Fever. This game highlights 2nd Annual J.J. Keller Foundation High School Tug of War Challenge. Along with the Tug of War Challenge, Piggly Wiggly and Sargento Food are having a "Stomp Out Hunger" Food Drive. Piggly Wiggly, Sargento Food and the Green Bay Blizzard encourage all fans to donate nonperishable food items as they enter the Resch Center.
