Brock Bradford scored two goals and added two assists, as the Lancers handled the Chicago Steel 5-1, before 2,824 fans at the Mid-America Center on Saturday, October 30th. The result put the Lancers within one point of first-place Lincoln in the West Division, and tied the Sioux Falls Stampede in the standings in second place.

Bradford opened the scoring for the Lancers in the second period with a bullet under the crossbar and past Chicago goaltender Billy Sauer, for a 1-0 lead at 8:28 of the middle frame. Corey Toy and Ryan Turek were given assists on Bradford's first goal. Bradford then assisted on Brandon Naurato's first goal of the season, in Naurato's first game back after recovering from an injury, just 18 seconds after Bradford's tally. The Lancers had a 2-0 lead at that point. Chicago was able to answer on a power play goal from Alan Thompson, with help from Kevin Swallow and TJ Fox at 13:33, cutting the Lancers' lead to 2-1. But, the Lancers would score the next three goals to salt the contest away, beginning with Corey Carlson's power play goal from Motherwell and Bradford, at 15:21, for a 3-1 lead. It became 4-1, when Bradford scored his second goal of the night and seventh of the season, beating Sauer on a feed from Trevor Smith, at 17:14. The final score of the night came from Kevin O'Connor, scoring the team's first shorthanded goal of the year, from Carlson, at 18:11 for the final count of 5-1.

Eddie Neville won the game in goal for the Lancers, starting his first game, and his second appearance in a Lancer uniform, while making 21 saves. Sauer stopped 24 shots on net in taking the loss for Chicago. The Lancers were 1-for-5 on the power play, and took 12 penalties for 24 minutes, while the Steel were 1-for-8 with the extra man and committed 9 infractions for 18 minutes.

Carlson led the Lancer offense with eight shots on goal and was a plus-four for the game.
